Title: Bitcoin 101: Beyond the Price
Abstract: This talk is geared to an audience who is new to Bitcoin. We are going to cover the origins and historical context of Bitcoin in the digital currency space, how the Bitcoin protocol works on a technical level, what problems Bitcoin solves, and potential markets that Bitcoin can disrupt. Q&A is encouraged throughout the talk and we will touch on smart contracts and Crypto-Currency 2.0 projects if time permits.
Speaker Bio: Ryan is a java developer and a certified crypto-currency consultant by the Digital Currency Institute and has given Bitcoin talks at So Cal Code Camp. He is primarily interested in how Bitcoin can serve the 6 billion under banked of the world and how smart contracts can reduce the friction in conducting business and creating worker owned cooperatives.
