Title: OpenStack in a DevOps World

Abstract: ‎OpenStack (http://www.openstack.org) has established itself as the premier Open Source cloud solution for private and public clouds. In this talk I will demonstrate various parts of OpenStack in a live demo on devstack (a small single node demo version) most notably compute (nova), networking (neutron), and load balancing. I will quickly introduce also the more Platform-as-a-Service like offerings database (trove), queuing (cue and zaquar), and big data (sahara). Lastly, we will review an example app (https://github.com/stackforge/libra) consisting of micro services and how this has been developed/deployed in a dev ops fashion using salt stack.

Bio: ‎German Eichberger is a Principal Software Engineer with HP Cloud and leading a team working on load balancing, firewall, and vpn for OpenStack. He has contributed to OpenStack Neutron and serves as the Co-Project Technical Lead for OpenStack Octavia. In previous roles he architected a cloud storage solution, worked on Hibernate and Struts, JSF, etc. He is an Adjunct Professor with Mesa Community College.
